If the Americans win, there is more chance to continue because the Louis Vuitton Trophy could become the preamble but if Alinghi win, there is less chance of that happening because we are not very good friends," he admitted. [B. Troublé]
"If Alinghi win, there is uncertainty over the future of the Cup since no one knows what Bertarelli is going to do but if BMW Oracle win, there is a clearer vision."
...
Both teams are understood to have teed up official challengers of record for the 34th America's Cup. Current defenders Alinghi are believed to be talking to Italian syndicate Green.com, backed by Trieste yacht club Societa Velica di Barcola e Grignano while BMW Oracle is rumoured to be in discussions with Sweden's Artemis, owned by Torbjorn Tornquist a Swedish oil tycoon based in Geneva, Switzerland.

12:10pm While we are waiting for the breeze to build up, rumors abound in the press center and the sailing media. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's largest sports newspaper, if BMW Oracle wins the America's Cup in Valencia, Mascalzone Latino will become the Challenger of Record and the 34th America's Cup match will take place in Newport, Rhode Island in 2013.
In fact, Alessandra Pandarese, Mascalzone Latino's legal counsel, is reported to currently be aboard Larry Ellison's Rising Sun, in order to present the challenge, if and when USA crosses the finish line ahead of Alinghi 5. We are waiting for the photo of Pandarese wearing the BMW Oracle outfit, enjoying Valencia's nice sunshine.
