Semifinal 1-4: BMW Oracle beats Luna Rossa in their first match
The match was decided at the prestart as Luna Rossa, obviously more agressive than in the previous races, fell on the Americans during dial-up and was penalized one minute before the gun. Chris Dickson started with an advantage that increased in the first leg. His control over the rest of the race lead him to a comfortable victory.

Semifinal 2-3: Mascalzone Latino Capitalia beats Areva Challenge in their first match
Although it was a match decided in prestart it was hard fought till the last tack. An excellent Jes Gram Hansen managed to stay calm against Sébastian Col, a born provocateur, and got him penalized twice, the second one due to a collision. Col had to offload one penalty right after the start (due to having accumulated two) and the lead built by the Italian team was enough to keep them ahead, even if the French didn't give up and closed in on the Italians, trying to get them penalized as well. Nevertheless, Hansen did not lose his temper, defended his lead till the end and would start the Saturday races with a point pocketed already.

Seastian Col mostra in due match tutte le motivazioni per cui è primo nella ranking list Isaf di match race. Areva, che nel suo primo match di oggi aveva pareggiato il conto con Mascalzone Latino, vince la semifinale e a sorpresa entra in finale, contro BMW Oracle. La partenza è molto equilibrata, e tutta la giornata si gioca sulla lettura del poco vento disponibile lungo il campo di regata. Areva è in testa sin dalla prima boa, e nella prima poppa Mascalzone Latino riesce ad avvicinarsi e rendersi pericoloso. Non abbastanza, però perché Areva riesce a mantenere il vantaggio e guardagnarsi con grande soddisfazione la finale contro Oracle.

In partenza Dickson costringe Areva a una penalità e si prende anche il lato migliore del campo di regatam, a sinistra, ed è avanti al primo incrocio e passa avanti alla prima boa con quattro lunghezze di vantaggio. Nella prima poppa i salti di vento avvantaggiano Areva, che si avvicina fino, nel lato successivo, a passare con diritto di rotta a poche lunghezze dalla boa di bolina. A quel punto Dixon, passato di poppa, vira e guadagna l’interno in boa, orza e grazie alla maggiore velocità mette il proprio avversario in difficoltà, fino ad obbligarlo a una collisione. Per Areva è la seconda penalità e non c’è più possibilità di recupero, anche in relazione al vento molto debole. Dickson resta imbattuto e ipoteca la vittoria di Trieste Challenge.

La suite demain... ce serait bien que Seb résiste un peu...

Mais hélas pas le troisième ! C'est tout de même le seul qui ait gagné une manche contre Oracle !

Mascalzone a gagné sa première manche vs LR.

Ils disent (si je comprends bien) qu'Areva a fait "le match de l'année". Je ne comprend pas bien ce qu'il dit sur les styles différents des barreurs ? Mais, c'est drôle on sent depuis le début que le commentateur n'a pas l'air d'apprécier l'agressivité ! Ailleurs il traitait Seb Col de "provocateur né" !!!....

c'est quand meme un super résultat ! ce sont les seuls à avoir pris des points à Dickson ils ont prouvé qu'ils n'avaient pas volé cette place de finale.

c'est plutot bon signe en ce qui concerne l'association Col - Pépon

Un dièse ! Le compte-rendu de la dernière régate a disparu du site (en tout cas je ne le trouve plus !). Il était noté qu'Areva était parti à droite (ou à gauche mais peu importe) avant qu'Oracle vire juste derrière lui à la bouée, et parte de l'autre côté. Ce qui l'a fait arriver une longueur d'avance à la bouée suivante. Mais je n'ai aucune confiance dans les commentaires (tendancieux) du site italien ! Attendons de voir ceux de Seb Col pour avoir le fin mot de l'histoire ! A noter aussi que le vent était plus qu'évanescent...
